Lumavita AG is a specialty biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing innovative anti-infectives for women's health. Created in 2006 as Shogoo AG, the
company changed name in 2008. It is currently focusing its research activities on two drug candidates, LMV-601 and LMV-602. LMV-601, a first-in-class PC-PLC* inhibitor, is in Phase I
clinical development for the potential treatment of Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infections of the cervix. First pre-clinical data also indicate activity against Herpes Simplex Virus. LMV-601
was discovered at DKFZ, Germany's renowned Cancer Research Centre. LMV-602, a macrolide antibiotic, was shown to potentially constitute a promising treatment for candidiasis and
trichomoniasis, two forms of vaginitis.
